Naomi Noelani Lugo is an inspired journalist who has worked in both digital and print media. Lugo has experience in editing, radio, graphic design,
freelance and photography.
Lugo worked her way up from assistant editor to her current position as the editor for the University of Hawaii at Manoa’s Marine Option Program newsletter Seawords. Monthly she creates the newsletter which reaches readers around the world. Seawords can be found both in print and online. Lugo has worked to create both, however, she is most proud of what she has been able to accomplish with the online version of the newsletter.
Lugo updated the old Seawords which was only published in print and in black & white, to a multimedia full color magazine. Now she designs the layout as well as curates and creates content for each issue.
Lugo was nominated for the Student Employee of the Year Award in 2013 for this position.

Lugo also currently interns with a local magazine based in Honolulu called Cherry Pop Revue.
